Counselling

 Services

Dealing with cancer can be stressful not only for the individual but also for loved ones. You need not try to handle this by yourself. Having someone to talk to about your feelings, fears and experience can make a big difference in how you deal with the diagnosis. A professional perspective can help you cope with the anxiety that is only natural. BC Cancer Agency centres are staffed with professional psychologists and counsellors who are skilled in assisting those recently diagnosed as well as individuals who experience a recurrence of the disease.

Every cancer centre has Patient & Family Counselling Services as well as various support programs.  You are welcome to contact your local centre and make an appointment. There are no fees for services since costs are covered under your BC healthcare plan.
